Calculator 09 / Cargo & Load Space
Cargo & Load Space Calculator
Get cargo volume and how many pallets fit in a truck bed, box, or trailer based on interior dimensions.
How this calculator works
The calculator checks both possible pallet orientations (lengthwise and rotated 90°) and uses whichever fits more pallets per layer — this is the same "pallet pattern" logic freight planners use before booking a load. It assumes pallets are loaded in a simple grid with no angled or interlocking patterns, which is a conservative (safe) estimate — a skilled loader may fit slightly more with a mixed pattern.
Does this account for weight limits?
No — this is a space/volume calculator only. Check your Towing & Payload numbers separately to make sure the cargo weight stays within your vehicle's rating even if it physically fits.
Why would real-world pallet count be different?
Door swing clearance, load bars, uneven pallet sizes, and non-stackable freight can all reduce usable space below the theoretical grid maximum calculated here.
Estimates only. Always confirm actual load space against your specific trailer or truck body's real interior dimensions, which can vary from nominal/advertised sizes.
